Chinese Pianist Lang Lang to Perform Sunday at Shriver Hall

In his first recital in Baltimore, acclaimed Chinese pianist Lang Lang will give a special performance at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, as part of the Shriver Hall Concert Series.

The concert will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Homewood's Shriver Hall Auditorium and will be preceded at 4:30 p.m. by a lecture by Eileen Soskin, associate dean for academic affairs at the Peabody Institute, in the Shriver Hall Clipper Room.

Lang's program will include Schumann's Variations on the Name Abegg for Piano in F Major, op. 1; Haydn's Piano Sonata in C Major, Hob. XVI/50; Chopin's Andante Spianato et Grande Polonaise Brillante in E-flat, op. 22 and Nocturne in D-flat Major, op. 27, no. 2; Tan Dun's Eight Memories in Watercolor, Op. 1; and Liszt's Reminiscences de Don Juan [based on Mozart's Don Giovanni], S. 418.
