Class Rules

1. Students must respect and obey all instructors and high ranking belts.
2. Students must display proper behavior and respect toward other students at all times.
3. Students must use the word "sir" when speaking to instructors during class.
4. Students must bow to the flags when entering or leaving the training area.
5. Students must be on time to all classes and must receive the instructor's permission to enter class if they are late.
6. Students must obtain permission for early dismissal from class.
7. Students must take class; they cannot practice by themselves when class is in session.
8. Students must keep noise and conversation to an absolute minimum during class.
9. Cell phones must be turned off or set to silent during class.
10. Students must keep the training area clean.

Uniform Rules

1. No student's belt may ever be left on the floor.
2. Students must wear a clean, white, Hopkins Taekwondo uniform during class, unless otherwise instructed. For half-uniform classes, students must wear either a Johns Hopkins Taekwondo or T. Kang Taekwondo T-shirt.
3. Nothing is to be written, sewn, glued, ironed, or stapled to the uniform other than approved flags/emblems.
4. Shirts must be tucked in during practice.
5. No jewelry should be worn during practice sessions, and socks and shoes should be removed before class.
6. Students should keep their nails clipped to prevent injury to others (Exceptions can be made).

Taekwondo is a Korean martial art which requires the use of only hands and feet. The main goal of Taekwondo is to achieve total mind and body control.
