Rules and Korean Vocabulary
Class Rules
- Students must respect and obey all instructors and high ranking belts.
- Students must display proper behavior and respect toward other students at all times.
- Students must use the word "sir" when speaking to instructors during class.
- Students must bow to the flags when entering or leaving the training area.
- Students must be on time to all classes and must receive the instructor's permission to enter class if they are late.
- Students must obtain permission for early dismissal from class.
- Students must take class; they cannot practice by themselves when class is in session.
- Students must keep noise and conversation to an absolute minimum during class.
- Cell phones must be turned off or set to silent during class.
- Students must keep the training area clean.
Uniform Rules
- No student's belt may ever be left on the floor.
- Students must wear a clean, white, Hopkins Taekwondo uniform during class, unless otherwise instructed. For half-uniform classes, students must wear either a Johns Hopkins Taekwondo or T. Kang Taekwondo T-shirt.
- Nothing is to be written, sewn, glued, ironed, or stapled to the uniform other than approved flags/emblems.
- Shirts must be tucked in during practice.
- No jewelry should be worn during practice sessions, and socks and shoes should be removed before class.
- Students should keep their nails clipped to prevent injury to others (Exceptions can be made).
