Physical Exams

I feel fabulous! Why should I have a physical exam?

It is important to have regular physical exams to prevent diseases and to detect medical problems before it is too late. Most importantly, we want to ensure that you continue to feel fabulous and healthy.

What should I expect during a physical exam?

During you visit, we will perform a medical history and obtain your blood pressure, weight, and height. We will also perform audiometry and vision screening if applicable. Your health care provider will check to make sure that you are up-to-date with your immunizations. Depending on your general health and medical history, further tests may be ordered if deemed necessary. We will also make recommendations regarding prevention, wellness, and healthy behaviors.

How much does this cost?

As long as you are a full or part-time student in the Schools of Arts and Sciences, Nursing, and Engineering, a routine exam is FREE. There may, however, be fees for laboratory tests which your provider may order if needed.

Please note that there is a $50 charge for pre-employment physical exams.

Should I bring anything with me?

Just bring yourself!

If the physical exam is being obtained for pre-employment, pre-operative, or administrative purposes (i.e. study abroad, scholarship, Peace Corps, etc.), please make sure you bring the appropriate paperwork to your appointment.
