Van Service Escort Van Schedule
Campus Security operates an escort van service daily from 5:00 pm to 3:00 am. This free service picks up and drops off students from campus and other locations within a mile radius of the Homewood Campus. Call X6-8700 to contact the van service. The Security Department will also provide an on-campus walking escort. After 10:00p.m., the Escort Van Service will not transport passengers to commercial establishments. Call for Security Patrol vehicles for transportation after 3:00 am.
Rider Responsibilities:
- For safety reasons all riders must show a valid Johns Hopkins ID to the driver upon entering the vehicle. Drivers will refuse entry to any person not showing valid Hopkins identification.
- Each driver has the right to deny service to any disruptive person.
- In the event of a rider’s extreme intoxication and disruptive behavior, security will be notified to escort the intoxicated party to the hospital.
- Baggage brought onto any van must fit on the rider’s lap.
- Groceries should be limited to what a rider can carry.
- There will be a limit of 2 guests per authorized JHU rider.
- Riders are expected to be waiting and ready for the escort van at the time of their van request.
- Riders are expected to respect the driver and in doing so, should not request the driver to exceed the service area limits or to help move furniture or boxes.
- Because of demands on the service, drivers are unable to wait for extended periods of time for any rider.
- Due to the heavy demand for this service, please do not call back unless you have been waiting longer than 20 minutes.

On Demand Escort Vans - Provides students and affiliates limited service within the one-mile service area, not on route, between campus and their residence and locations within the Charles Village service area, Monday-Sunday, 5:00 p.m.-3:00 a.m. Call 410-516-8700 to request this service.
“Superfresh” – West-Route
First – “Superfresh” West-Route begins at 4:35 p.m. and continues every hour until 9:20 p.m.
Second – “Superfresh” West-Route begins at 5:05 p.m. and continues every hour until 9:50 p.m. |
