| WANTED: | Black male, 20-25 yrs., 5'10" - 6', medium complexion, close-cropped hair, clean cut appearance, wearing a gray or tan jacket. |
A student exiting the Royal Farm Store at 33rd
and St. Paul Sts. was approached by a male who asked for a quarter
. The student then gave him a quarter. The student was then asked
for a dollar and he refused. As the student walked north on St.
Paul St. the assailant confronted him and demanded all his cash.
Assailant was last seen walking north on St. Paul St. No weapon
was displayed and the student was not injured. Hopkins Officers
searched the area and Northern District Police responded.
The Security Department strongly recommends using
the escort service, particularly late at night when few people
are on the street. Where possible walk with friends. Be aware
of your surroundings. DO NOT GIVE money to panhandlers -- this
only encourages them to continue. If confronted by an aggressive
panhandler call Security or 911 IMMEDIATELY from the nearest phone.
