BEACH ACTIVITY -- Orderly: Afternoon peak of 100 at 3 PM. 80 to 100 students gathered after midnight. Several groups of students attempting to walk onto the Beach after midnight carrying beer were advised of the no alcohol policy -- they left area without incident.

 

ALCOHOL VIOLATION OFF CAMPUS -- 1:55 AM May 10, 34th & Charles St. -- Baltimore Police issued citations to two undergraduates for carrying open containers of alcohol.

 

EXTENDED-HOURS ESCORT VAN -- An escort van is running 3 AM - 7 AM until May 13th for transporting students between their residences and all-night study areas on campus. 

22 students were transported this morning 3 AM - 7 AM. Total since May 2nd is 178.             

 

NO CAMPUS CRIME REPORTED

 

CARD ACCESS SYSTEM MALFUNCTION -- Homewood Apts., May 10, 2:06am - 4:00am -- Access cards would not allow entry through 6th floor doors, other access doors opened without use of card. Access system technician was notified and system returned to normal operation. Hopkins Officer assisted residents entering 6th floor wings.

 

TELEPHONE MISUSE - McCoy, May 10, 3:20am - 3:40am -- Resident received numerous annoying phone calls from undergraduate acquaintance. Report to Dean of Students.

 

ILLEGAL DUMPING -- R-Lot, May 8, 7:05pm (reported May 9) -- Citizen observed a person dump garbage into wooded area. Report to Manger of Grounds Dept.

 

ESCORT SERVICES

n      FIXED-ROUTE VANS (2) transported 202 passengers

n      OFF-ROUTE VANS (2) 102 calls with 226 passengers

n      2 Student Monitors on duty

n      Hopkins Officers escorted 7 students, 1 employee

 

OFF-CAMPUS INCIDENTS REPORTED

THEFT -- Off campus, May 7, 2:30am - May 8, 8pm -- Undergraduate's ATM/debit card was used by an unknown person off campus.

 

ALARMS ON AND OFF CAMPUS: Hopkins Officers responded to (1) 3301 N. Charles St. Design & Publications Bldg. intrusion alarm set off accidentally by student, (2) Krieger Mind/Brain Institute door alarm, checked, OK.
