Attempt Purse Snatch

(3 blocks southeast of campus)

APRIL 26, 2008 11:26 PM

On April 26th at 11:26 PM, a non-affiliated female was walking alone when a male came up behind her, knocked her to the ground, and attempted to take her purse.  The victim held on to her purse at which time the suspect fled south on Guilford Avenue then east on E. 29th Street.  Nothing was taken.  No injuries.  Baltimore Police responded.  Investigation continuing.

Description of Suspect:

Black male, large build, wearing a black coat and black pants

    • When walking be aware of your surroundings. If a stranger attempts to engage you in conversation cross the street or enter an open business establishment. When confronted by a robber it is better to relinquish property than to risk serious injury.
