Weekly Campus Crime Report

October 8, 2012 – October 15, 2012

On-Campus

Theft – Latrobe Hall room 17 -- Between Oct. 12^th at 6:00 PM and Oct. 13^th at 8:00 AM, a laptop computer was taken from an unlocked desk drawer. No signs of forced entry to the office.  Investigation continuing.

Theft – Gilman Hall room 4 – Between Oct. 12^th at 3:00 PM and Oct. 14^th at 2:45 PM, two laptop computers that were attached to a cable lock on a conference table were cut and taken.  Investigation continuing.

Off Campus

Robbery – 200 Blk. West 31^st St., even side – On October 9th at approximately 8:05 PM, a JHU graduate student was walking eastbound when two suspects approached him from behind and stated, “You are in my way.”  The graduate student stepped off to the side and one of the suspects punched him and pushed him to the ground. The other suspect also struck the graduate student several times while he was on the ground. The student gave the suspects cash and they were last seen running west on the 31^st Street. The graduate student walked to campus and called Campus Security.  The student was transported by ambulance to Union Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and released.  The area was canvassed for the suspects by Campus Security and Baltimore Police with negative results.  Investigation continuing.

Theft from Auto– 3900 Blk N. Charles St., odd numbered side –Between Oct. 9^th at 10:00 PM and Oct. 10^th at 3:30 PM, unknown individual(s) broke the passenger side window of a graduate student’s parked vehicle and removed a GPS device. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.

Theft – Corner of St. Paul St. and 31^st St. (East side) – On Oct. 14^th at 10:46 PM, a JHU undergraduate was walking southbound and talking on her cell phone.  An unknown male came from behind her and took the phone from her hand and then ran east on 32^nd Street.  The suspect was last seen running south in 3100 Block of Hargrove Street. Baltimore Police and campus officers searched the area with negative results. Investigation continuing.

REMINDERS

When traveling at night use the Blue Jay Shuttle service at 410-516-8700.  Blue Jay Shuttle Vans are operational from 5:45 PM to 4:00 AM.
