July 23, 2012 – July 30, 2012

 

On-Campus

 

Theft -- Dunning Hall, 2nd floor -- On July 23rd at 9:00 PM, three CTY students left their backpacks unattended in a second floor classroom. Upon their return on July 24th at 9:00AM, all three students discovered their calculators were missing. Investigation continuing.

Off Campus

 

 

  Theft - Wyman Building, 6th floor south - On July 23rd  between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM, unknown individual(s) entered an unlocked and unattended office.  Cash, credit cards and a driver’s license were removed from an employee’s wallet which had been located in an unlocked desk drawer.  Baltimore Police responded.  Investigation continuing.

ARRESTED -- Disorderly Juveniles Eastern Campus, 1101 E. 33rd St. – On July 29th at 6:42 PM, two juveniles were kicking over trash cans, tampering with a university vehicle and refusing to leave the campus as ordered. Homewood Campus officers and Baltimore Police responded, apprehended them, identified them as non-affiliates 13- and a 14-years of age, and gave them trespass warnings. Baltimore Police arrested them for  disorderly conduct and trespassing and transported them to juvenile detention.  The older juvenile was identified as having taken a 2-way radio from a vehicle on July 22ndInvestigation continuing.

Armed Robbery 3200 Blk. Remington Ave.— On July 28th at 12:58 AM, two graduate students and a junior undergraduate walking together were approached by three unknown males, between 14 and 18 years of age, one of whom said to them, “give me your money” and one displayed a handgun. The suspects took cash from the wallets of two students and a purse containing a wallet and Blackberry cell phone from the third student. The suspects then fled north and were last seen in the 3300 Blk. Beech Ave.   Baltimore Police and campus officers searched the area with negative results. One graduate student who was struck in the head was treated at an area hospital for minor injuries and released. Investigation continuing. 

Shoplifting (Criminal Citation Issued)7-Eleven Store, 3003 N. Charles St. – On July 28th at 3:08 AM, a non-affiliated male attempting to take some bags of peanuts was stopped by a store employee while another college age male grabbed some candy bars and ran out of the store. An off-duty Baltimore Police officer working for JHU issued a criminal citation to the non-affiliate. The other subject later identified as a senior undergraduate was located nearby.  He appeared to be intoxicated and acting irrationally. Baltimore Police responded and transported the student to Union Memorial Hospital where he was admitted for observation.

Burglary 2900 Blk. St. Paul St. (even numbered side) – On July 27th between 10:30 AM and 5:00 PM, an unknown subject(s) entered a first floor bedroom located at the rear of the residence by removing an air conditioner from a window.  A 40” LCD TV, cable box and an X-Box and associated games were removed and the subject(s) exited through a rear door. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation continuing.

When traveling at night use the Blue Jay Shuttle service at 410-516-8700.  Blue Jay Shuttle Vans are operational from 5:45 PM to 4:00 AM.
