July 9, 2012 – July 16, 2012

 

On-Campus

 

Theft- Space Telescope Building, third floor open area- Between July 7th at 5:30 PM and July 9th at 8:40 AM, unknown individual(s) entered the open area and removed an I-Pad from a countertop. Investigation continuing

Off Campus

 

ARREST / Armed Robbery 3000 Blk. N. Calvert St. (west side)  – On July 13th at 11:37 PM, three  graduate students standing in front of a private residence were approached by a group of five male juveniles. One SPH graduate student was grabbed from behind and struck on the head with an unknown object. A second SPH graduate student was thrown to the ground. The juveniles took two cell phones and a wallet from the SPH graduate students and fled east on 30th Street. Baltimore Police, campus officers and an off-duty Baltimore Police officer working for JHU searched the area and located the group of suspects in 400 Blk. Ilchester Ave. After a brief chase, Baltimore Police stopped a 13-year old male juvenile suspect. The juvenile was arrested after being positively identified by one of the victims. The victims’ property was recovered. Both victims declined medical treatment. Investigation continuing. 

Injured Person3100 Blk. Wyman Park Drive – On July 13th at 10:56 AM, a non-affiliated male walking on the north side grounds of the Wyman Building was struck and knocked down by a falling tree limb. The victim was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital where he was treated and released.

When traveling at night use the Blue Jay Shuttle service at 410-516-8700.  Blue Jay Shuttle Vans are operational from 5:45 PM to 4:00 AM.
