Bicycle Theft - West side of Mattin Center - June 28th between 10:30 AM and 11:00 AM, an unknown individual(s) removed a JHU employee’s mountain bicycle by cutting a cable lock. The bicycle had been secured to the bicycle rack on the west side of the Mattin Center. Investigation continuing.
Bicycle Theft - North side of Maryland Hall - June 28th between 2:00 PM and 4:40 PM, an unknown individual(s) removed an undergraduate’s mountain bicycle by cutting a cable lock. The bicycle had been secured to the bicycle rack located at the north side of Maryland Hall. Investigation continuing.
Theft
– Bloomberg Hall, third floor office– On June 26th
between 9:30 AM and 10:20 AM, unknown individual(s) entered an unlocked and unattended
office and removed a graduate student’s backpack containing personal papers and
a credit card. The backpack had been left on the floor while the student was in
a nearby lab. Baltimore Police were notified. Investigation
continuing.
Theft
– Barton Hall, first floor office– On June 26th
between 11:15 AM and 12:00 PM, unknown individual(s) entered an unlocked and
unattended office and removed cash from a student employee’s wallet. The wallet
was inside the student’s purse which she had placed under her desk. Investigation continuing.
ARREST -- Attempted Bike Theft / CCTV Monitoring -- Interfaith Center Bike Rack, Unit Blk. E. University Pkwy - On June 25th at 1:10 PM, two non-affiliated male juveniles were observed using bolt cutters to cut the cable lock on a bike. The juveniles then ran from the area but were quickly located by Campus officers and Baltimore Police. Baltimore Police arrested the juveniles for attempted theft and both were given trespass warnings for JHU.
ARREST - Assault and Robbery (non-affiliates) -- 3200 Block North Charles St.-- June 28th at 1:37 PM a non-affiliate juvenile female was approached by four juvenile females who were also walking southbound in the 3200 blk. or North Charles St. These suspects started yelling obscenities at the victim and her sister and then assaulted the victim by knocking her to the ground. They continued the assault by punching the victim about the head and body. The suspects stole the victim’s cell phone and fled the scene. During a canvass of the area, BPD and Campus Police detained the suspects who were arrested and charged accordingly. The victim was treated for minor injuries by Fire Department personnel. She was then transported to the hospital for further treatment.
