On Campus

 

TheftWolman Hall – On July 2nd between 7:00 AM and 10:45 PM, a conference attendee reports that currency was taken from an unlocked desk drawer in a room that was possibly left unlocked.  No signs of forced entry.  Investigation continuing.

 

Off Campus

 

On-view Fire Emergency (Non-affiliate Injured) 3507 N. Charles St., The Carlton Apartments – July 1st at 3:30 AM,  an Allied Barton bicycle security officer heard a smoke detector sounding inside the private apartment building and smelled an odor of something burning. The officer immediately contacted the Baltimore Fire Department who responded and together with campus officers entered the building to alert residents to evacuate.  The cause of the alarm was found to be a pot of food burning on the stove in one of the apartments.  The apartment resident, a non-affiliate, suffered from smoke inhalation and was transported by ambulance to Union Memorial Hospital.

 

Malicious Destruction of PropertyUnit Blk. E. 34th St. – On July 4th at 1:41 AM, an Allied Barton guard observed three males walk past a parked van when one of them punched the side mirror damaging the frame.  Investigation continuing.

 

 

 

REMINDERS

 

When traveling at night use the Security Department’s escort service at 410-516-8700.  Security Escort Vans are operational from 5:00 PM to 3:00AM.

During exam week an Escort Van will also be running from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM as a service to students studying on campus.
