Campus Crime Report
April 21, 2008 – April 28, 2008
On Campus
Thefts:
- MSE Library – On April 25th
at 9:06 PM, an unattended laptop was taken from a work station on M-Level when
the victim went to the men’s room. Investigation
continuing.
- Fresh Food Café – On April 27th at 12:50
PM, a group of males placed fruit in their pockets and walked out of the café. Investigation continuing.
- Freshman Quad
(Spring Fair related) – Between April 26th at 6:00 PM and
April 27th at 6:00 PM, an unsecured and unattended electric blower unit
was taken from a vendor's site. Investigation
continuing.
Off Campus
Attempt Robbery – Wyman Park
Dell, 2900 Blk. N. Charles St.
– On April 22nd at 7:55 PM, two non-affiliated juveniles were
approached by six to seven juveniles, 9-13 years old, on bicycles. One of
the juveniles demanded and attempted to take the victim’s cell phone. The
victim pushed the suspect away. Another juvenile took the victim’s
walking stick and struck him in head. Nothing was taken. The
victim was taken to Union
Memorial Hospital
by his parents where he was treated and released. Baltimore Police
responded. Area searched to no avail. Investigation
continuing by Baltimore Police. See Security Bulletin SP 4 at

Commercial Soliciting – Wyman Park
Building – On April
23rd at 2:05 PM, two males attempting to sell paintings without
authorization were identified by Campus Officers and given trespass warnings.
Unarmed Robbery – Northwest Corner of E. 33rd
& N. Calvert Sts. – On April 24th between 2:40 PM and 2:45
PM, after purchasing a hot dog from a vending cart, an unknown female pushed
the vendor against a parked auto and removed a bag of currency from
an open drawer of the cart. The suspect then fled west on E. 33rd Street and
north on Hargrove Street.
No injuries. Baltimore Police responded. Area searched to no

Attempt Purse Snatch – 3000 Blk. Guilford Ave. – On April
26th at 11:26 PM, a non-affiliated female was walking alone when a
male came up behind her, knocked her to the ground, and attempted to take her
purse. The victim held on to her purse at which time the suspect fled
south on Guilford Avenue
then east on E. 29th
Street. Nothing was taken. No
injuries. Baltimore Police responded. Investigation

REMINDERS
When traveling at night use the Security Department’s escort service
at 410-516-8700. Security Escort Vans are operational from 5:00 PM
to 3:00AM.
During exam week an Escort Van will also be running from 3:00 AM to
7:00 AM as a service to students studying on campus.
All students are welcome to participate in the security
