April 7, 2008 – April 14, 2008

 

 

On Campus

 

Theft from OfficeAMR II, Housing Office – Between April 4th at 4:00 PM and April 7th at 12:00 Noon, a bank bag containing $50 in coins and cash was taken from an unlocked desk drawer inside an office.  No signs of forced entry.  Preliminary investigation reveals that there are numerous keys issued to this office.  Investigation continuing.

 

GraffitiMattin Center – Between April 10th at 4:00 PM and April 11th at 8:00 PM, indiscernible writings were spray painted on the exterior wall of the Morris W. Offit Building.  The graffiti was removed by the Paint Shop. Investigation continuing.

 

 

 Off Campus

 

Theft from Auto3600 Blk. St. Paul St. – On April 7th between 9:00 AM and 10:00 PM, the in-dash AM-FM radio/CD-player was taken from a graduate student’s parked vehicle.  The owner returned to find that trunk lid partially open and the glove compartment ransacked.  No signs of forced entry.  Baltimore Police were notified.  Investigation continuing.

 

Credit Card MisuseBarnes & Noble Bookstore, 3330 St. Paul St. – Between April 5th at 8:00 PM and April 9th at 8:00 PM, an undergraduate’s credit cards which were apparently lost at Barnes and Noble Bookstore were used to make unauthorized purchases.  Investigation continuing.

 

ARREST – Common Assault Following a Domestic Dispute (Alcohol Related)Unit Blk. W. University Pkwy. – On April 12th at 1:04 AM, an alumnus walking past a non-affiliate couple engaged in a verbal dispute became concerned for the female’s safety and attempted to intervene. The male involved, later found to be the female's husband, pushed the alumnus to the ground. The incident was observed by an off-duty Baltimore Police officer working for JHU who subsequently placed the non-affiliated male under arrest.  No injuries were reported.

 

 

 

REMINDERS

 

When traveling at night use the Security Department’s escort service at 410-516-8700.  Security Escort Vans are operational from 5:00 PM to 3:00AM.

During exam week an Escort Van will also be running from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM as a service to students studying on campus.
