The following finder charts have been constructed from reduced PT images using the g' band frames.

The finder charts have been constructed only for the primary standard star candidates and for some aditional fields, supposed to contain red AND blue stars.

Each image was constructed by averaging 2-4 frames in order to eliminate cosmic rays and bad columns, not always succesfully.

On each chart I have marked the primary stars by red arrows. In some of the SA fields there's more than one primary.

The stars have been identified using finder charts in Landolt 1992 paper (Landolt, A., AJ 104,pg 340, plates 21 to 76), finder charts for HST photometric and spectrophotometric stars (Turnshek et al., AJ, 99, 1243, plates 45 to 78).

For the brightest of the candidates, Hipparcos coordinates have been used for generating a small finder chart. Many of these stars have noticeable proper motions and I could actually see them moving since the first generation Palomar plates have been taken.

Most of the SA stars are now in the second release of the Tycho catalogue, available online from Simbad.

So, here's the list of stars for which finder charts have been constructed so far. Please click on the star name for a jpg image of the field. The finder charts have N up and E to the left.

The charts cover about 121 primary stars and 3 Red-Blue fields by now.(Sept 25, 2000). There's more to come.

Ross49   Ross49 is almost "blended" with a field star and has very high proper motion (PA ~ 190). According to the Hipparcos catalogue, the stars formed an optical double at the epoch of the survey(J1991.25)- separation = 0.946 arcsec, PA 170, deltamag=0.98 (Hp V magnitudes). The pair designation is HP27111 = CCDM 05449+0915). Due to the rapid proper motion of Ross49 - aprox 704 mass/yr - the integrated magnitude of the pair is likely to vary fast. The field also contains Cederblad 59 - Ced59, an HII region surrounding FU Ori-the bright star about 17' SE of Ross49-, the dark nebulae B35-the large void area S and W of Ross49 and scores of HH objects...
