For stars, these exposure times will yield peak values of about 45,000 DN in good seeing. Total counts will be around 200K DN (these are for 1.2 airmasses). CCD gain is about 4 e/DN; make adjustments for sky, seeing, etc. For tracking accuracy, avoid exposures longer than 300 - 600 seconds. |
