Check TCS Computer Fans
The TCS computer is in the lower drawer of the PT control desk, underneath the
motor driver chassis. It's an ordinary PC Clone with a custom board from DFM
installed.
Once a year, just before the hot season, the case should be opened to make sure
all the fans are operating.
There are three fans.
-
One is built into the power supply at the right rear as you look from above.
Put your hand behind the computer to feel the rush of air leaving the power
supply (and the computer case).
-
Another fan is inside at the left front of the case. Put your hand behind that
fan to feel the rush of air entering the case.
-
The third fan is right over the CPU, lying on its side on a curved bracket.
Look at it to see that it's turning. Power off the computer and check that the
CPU fan turns freely. If it offers any resistance to finger pushing, replace
it.
Fans that have failed should be repaired or replaced.
