National Postdoctoral Appreciation Day Celebration
JHMI celebrated the first-ever National Postdoc Appreciation Day on September 24, 2009. An initiative of the National Postdoctoral Association, the day was marked with events across the country. Here at Hopkins, the PDO joined forces with the JHPDA and the Associate Dean for Postdoctoral Affairs to hold a festive brunch for fellows and their advisors across the schools of Medicine, Nursing and Public Health. Posters around the room and a slide show displayed recent achievements. Attendees were able to see one another’s grants, honors, first-author publications, and other accomplishments while enjoying coffee, bagels, pastries and fruit. Postdocs, essential to the research enterprise, should be appreciated all year long; we are pleased to show them extra recognition on this special day.
