Group Registration

Below is information on how to register a new group as well as registration procedures for returning groups.

New Group Registration

New student groups are referred to as provisional groups. Provisional groups are given one academic year to determine whether or not a new community partnership or program idea is sustainable. At the end of one year, successful groups will be formally recognized as CSC groups. Groups whose programs are not successful will not be granted official group status. Provisional Group applications are accepted from September 1 through October 31st and then again from February 1 through February 28th.

Please read the Guidelines for Provisional Groups for more information. Students whose concepts are approved by the CSC Director will need to fill out Individual France Merrick Award forms.

Registration for Returning Groups

Registration Form: Existing CSC groups can complete the Returning Group Biography form online through the Hopkins Group portal until Tuesday September 13 2011 at 5:00 p.m. Please log-in to the portal on your machine before attempting to complete the form.

Budget Submission: Groups will need to download the budget form from the CSC homepage and E-MAIL it to volunteer@jhu.edu.

Group leaders will also have to make a 30 minute one-on-one appointment with CSC staff by e-mailing volunteer@jhu.edu or calling 410-516-4777. All appointments will be held at the CSC office located at 3103 N. Charles Street (intersection of 31st and Charles Streets. House with a bright red door).

Appointments will be available the week of September 5-9 and on the 12th and the 13th.

PLEASE complete online registration at least 24 hours prior to appointment times!

The one-on-one session with staff will include going over goals listed on registration forms, looking over budget proposals, and going over host site evaluation forms (if applicable). Students who have never been to the CSC will receive a quick tour.

Student groups will need to appoint one or two people to attend the annual All Group's Meeting September 15th at 6pm in the Great Hall in Levering. One officer must be a financial officer.
