| Best Buddies is an organization dedicated to the enhancement of the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing the opportunity to form one-to-one friendships. Our organization, the Johns Hopkins chapter of Best Buddies International, works with the Baltimore Transition Connection in pairing college students with their members, who are individuals with intellectual disabilities. In Baltimore, as well as throughout America, Best Buddies serves to meet the needs of communities of people with mental disabilities. People with intellectual disabilties are often overlooked in our society and not given the opportunity to integrate fully and demonstrate their talents and personalities. Best Buddies' goal is to bridge that divide between people with intellectual diasbilities and those without by providing them the opportunity to make one-to-one friendships. | ||
