Welcome Freshmen
Dear Incoming Student,
Let us be among the many to congratulate and welcome you to Johns Hopkins University. The executive staff is gearing up to create your 2008 Orientation program. We’re excited about the programs and events we have to plan. Although finishing highschool and spending countless days idle throughout the summer separate you from your first day at Hopkins, we would like to give you a brief overview of what to expect when you arrive on campus in early September.
The Freshmen Orientation Program is here to make sure your transition to college goes smoothly and that Orientation provides you an exciting glimpse into your college career. We are here for you, whether it is unloading your car, guiding you through the Orientation programs, or responding to that question you need answered. We will also be sending you two mailings throughout the summer to provide you and your parents with information on Orientation.
If you are curious about move-in, you should be aware that your move-in day is given to you based on your housing assignment, which will be mailed to you in mid-July from the Housing Office. Additionally, you will receive a Summer Guide to Mail Flow which contains information about this and everything else that you will be receiving over the next few weeks. Be sure to keep it handy so you will be able to keep track of important dates and deadlines. Finally, we know that your parents have just as many questions as you, so we’ve enclosed an entire section just for them.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to call us at 410-516-4754, instant message us on AIM at JHUOrientation, or e-mail us at orientation@jhu.edu. Also, be sure to check out our comprehensive website for a heads up on the latest Orientation news.
Once again, congratulations and welcome to Hopkins. We look forward to meeting you during Orientation week!
