Optic Delivery of Multi-Pulsed Laser Source for Tone
Burst and Phased Array Ultrasonic Excitation
The purpose of this program is to modify
our existing narrow-band system for pulsed generation of
laser ultrasound so that it can be delivered by fiber.
This allows the narrow-band source system to be
manipulated and used in direct measurement applications
outside of the research laboratory. These applications
include use in a hybrid laser generation/ EMAT detection
system for defect detection.

Pulsed Nd:YAG
laser array, developed by Todd Murray, is coupled for
narrow-band fiber delivery
