After Collapse: The Regeneration of Complex Societies (Univ. of Arizona Press, 2006) edited by Glenn M. Schwartz, Whiting Professor of Archaeology, and John Nichols, JHU PhD 2004, has been named an "Outstanding Academic Title" by Choice Magazine, the magazine of the Association of College and Research  Libraries.

The statement from Choice reads in part:
"These outstanding works have been selected for their excellence in scholarship and presentation, the significance of their contribution to the field, and their value as important often the first treatment of their subject. Comprising just over 9% of the titles reviewed by Choice during the past year, and less than 3% of the more than 25,000 titles submitted to Choice during this same period, Outstanding Academic Titles are truly "the best of the best." As always, only a select group of publishers and authors are represented on such a list. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement."
