Polymers

Plastics – still the one word for many materials science graduates. From clothing to liquid crystal displays, polymers are becoming more and more versatile and finding more and more applications in high technology.



Gore-Tex fabrics are made of a space-age polymer that allows perspiration to evaporate away, but is still waterproof to keep out the elements





Displays made from organic light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are cheap to make and damage resistant.
