The beautiful images displayed in my research pages are credited to--

MILANKOVITCH CYCLES:  This image of the solar system is wallpaper from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (http://www.jpl.nasa.gov/wallpaper/solarsystem.cfm). The planets are in order but their relative sizes and their orbital distances from the Sun are not to scale. A radar image of Venus was selected to show surface features; Venus is actually covered by dense clouds. A comet heads toward the inner solar system; its glowing tail is the result of heating by the Sun. The photograph on "Astronomical Time for Earth History" is of the Vocontian Basin, courtesy of Alfred G. Fischer (USC).

POLAR CLIMATES:  The main photograph is from Greenland Guides (http://www.greenland-guide.gl/ice_snow.htm). Tim Naish (New Zealand) captured the NSF ANDRILL photograph in Antarctica.

THE CHRONOS NETWORK:  This is my personal interpretation of the CHRONOS Network project logo (http://www.chronos.org). The significance of the logo is still under advisement.

THE LATEMAR CONTROVERSY:  This original photograph, courtesy of Nereo Preto (University of Padua), is of the Latemar Massif in the Dolomites, Northern Italy, which stands over 2900 meters high, here dusted by a summer snowstorm.

CHESAPEAKE BAY:  The Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) is a federally administered partnership that oversees the restoration of the Chesapeake Bay. CBP partners include the States of Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia, the District of Columbia, the Chesapeake Bay Commission, the EPA, and citizen advisory groups. This photo is from the CBP gallery (http://www.chesapeakebay.net/photos.cfm).
