Objective 1:Cyclostratigraphy depends on the analysis of the frequency content of proxy variations. Earth system time series present special problems that require specialized algorithms for the analysis of short, noisy time series (e.g., multiple taper methods). Others have addressed the uneven sampling of Earth system data (e.g., Lomb-Scargle analysis). The CHRONOS toolbox will provide researchers with multiple methodologies that singly and/or in combination provide a comprehensive description of their data.
