Introduction: Aim | Scope

Scope:

Cyclic climate variations span a broad spectrum of time scales, the most important of which are orbital cycles (see Cyclostratigraphic Drivers). The goal is to assemble climate proxy data that contain one or more independent "time controls" (or "tags") that link to other thematic areas in the CHRONOS system.

    Orbital time scales:

An orbitally resolved time scale over the entire Cenozoic Era tied directly to the orbital canon
Floating orbital scales for the Mesozoic and Paleozoic Eras not tied directly to the orbital canon
405-kyr eccentricity "metronome" for the Phanerozoic ("Astronomical Polarity Time Scale")
