Tsunami Relief

When the Indian Ocean tsunami hit South Asia last December 26, it claimed as many as 250,000 lives and wiped out entire towns. The Johns Hopkins community responded to the devastation with donations, with expertise, and with hands-on assistance. We heard from students, faculty, staff, and alumni from across Hopkins — Medicine, Public Health, Arts and Sciences, Engineering, Advanced International Studies — who threw fundraisers here at home or flew to the region to help as they could. (A number were already there when the disaster struck.) Here are just a few of the ways Johns Hopkins people have been lending a hand in the aftermath.
