Complete facilities for cell culture exist within the imaging center. The equipment includes a laminar flow hood, CO2 incubators, centrifuges, and inverted Zeiss ID03 microscope for observing the cell cultures. Capabilities exist for splitting and growing both stationary and spinner cultures in a humidified CO2 environment. There is also a LN2 container for storage of frozen cell lines and stocks.

Users of the IIC may keep and maintain their cell cultures in this facility at no additional charge.

Laboratory bench space and facilities are available to users for preparation of solutions and pre-treatment of cell cultures used in imaging experiments.  Standard laboratory bench-top equipment includes an Eppendorf 5417R refrigerated microcentrifuge, Bechman and Perkin-Ellmer spectrophotometers, various pipettes, pH meter, and low speed centrifuge for pelleting cells.
