Lots of Stuff |

Greetings,
There's lots of stuff to go over for this week.
1) Monday, there will be a recruitment-type thing on the Freshman Quad from
2-4. It's very casual: we'll just be playing some games, and trying to get a few
Freshman (soon to be Sophomores) interested.
2) Tuesday is the final Pre-frosh Recruitment fair. 2:45-4:30, Glass Pav.
3) Thursday is HopSFA board elections. If you want to be on the board (or
REALLY don't), or want a say in who organizes things next year, this is the week
to do it. The meeting is 8pm in Gilman 33. Remember, you CANNOT decline a
nomination or election if you aren't at the meeting.
4) We may elect the HopSFAnatic Editor separately this year, as the new SAC
policy requires the HopSFAnatic to be a separate group.
5) Friday at 4:30 HopSFA will be getting a donation of about 800 sci-fi books.
Show up at 4:15 outside of Levering to help us figure out where to put them
all.
6) May 8th is the Vacarros trip. We need LOTS of people for this (about 30)
or Vacarros will be cross with us. For those of you who don't know, Vacarros is
the most ridiculously wonderful dessert place ever. Their desserts shouldn't
be legal. This is a great way to take a break from studying for exams. Taking
an hour or so off to eat pastry and talk to friends can do wonders for exam
morale. COME GET DESSERT!!!
7) We have funding for DragonCon! If you'd like to go as part of the HopSFA
group, I need to know that you're going BY MAY 2nd, and I need the money by May
8th. I won't know the exact price till I know how many people are going, but
figure around $100 per person for the Hotel room and other stuff the SAC money
isn't going to cover. DragonCon is...an incredible experience. Everyone I've
talked to who has been to one has loved it, and I plan to go every year. People
who think they hate cons love DragonCon, and people who like cons are in heaven
for a weekend. Amazing costumes, really good gaming, great performers,
wonderful dealers room and art room, really cool guests, surprisingly attractive
members of the appropriate sex...it has it all. Go to http://www.dragoncon.org for
more info. If you can afford to go at all, it's completely worth it. It's
August 29th-September 1st this year. If you really want to go, are sure you will
have the money before the trip, but can't get the cash together by Septe
Whew, that's all
See everyone on Thursday,
Shannon
