Subject: Killer Rules

Hey all,

This is your Certified Public Assassin with the official rules of
Killer. The rules are posted below. But first, some general announcements
about the game. The game kicks off at Live and Let Die, this Thursday's
HopSFA meeting. For those that didn't get the HopSFA email, we're all
gonna get dressed up in our best formal gear, secret agent style, and go
to McDonalds. For those interested, gather at Levering at 8PM. Everyone
will get their first target via email at midnight on Thursday.

KILLER RULES

Current Rules created by Zack Sullivan, assassin extraordinaire. Edited
by Jon Rothstein. Further modified by Marcus D'Amelio and again by S.
John Spey. Condensed by Ron McMahan, 2000. Messed around with by Zeshan
Rajput, 2000. Further condensed and then reconstituted by Josh Paulik,
2001.

BASIC RULES

You are given a victim whom you must kill within one week. You
must register your kills with the CPA immediately after the deed.

You may kill someone in front of up to two people. They do not have to
see you, they just have to be capable of seeing you. You may use water
guns, disk guns, folded paper knives, poison, etc.. Further explanations
are below.

RULES
You may kill only your victim, your killer, or anyone who has a drawn
weapon. If you kill any person who is not one of the above, even if they
are in the game, you are dead.

You have one week starting the midnight after you receive the name of
your victim to kill your victim. If you fail, you are retired
by the CPA.

If your victim is retired by the CPA, you will be assigned a new target,
and you will have a whole week for the new assignment. Accomplices and
other people not playing all count as witnesses. The CPA himself only
counts as a witness if he wants to at the moment. Bribes are a perfectly
acceptable way to sway his choice.

You must register each kill immediately with the CPA, either by telephone,
(Noon to 3 AM only) or via e-mail. Anyone calling the CPA outside of the
allowed hours may be automatically retired at the CPA's discretion. This
year's CPA is Josh Paulik, email address seraphim@shellyeah.org, home
phone 410-467-2690, cell phone 410-961-0043.

Allowed weapons are listed later. Any rules or questions or disputes will
be handled by the CPA. (What he says goes!)

WITNESSES

If up to two people can see you, then you get away. If three or
more can, you are dead and your victim lives after a miracle surgery.

Example: Jeff is giving a speech in front of 300 people on "Bellowing
Voices in the 90's." Sarah is standing in a corridor such that the
audience is around the corner. She shoots Jeff with a water gun. Jeff is
dead. (WOO HOO)

(Even if there were two other people in the corridor.) There must be at
least THREE possible witnesses with UNOBSCURED VISION of the KILLER, for
the killer to fail. (A third person at a water fountain in the hall would
have insured Sarah's demise even though he faced the other way.)

IMPORTANT: NO KILLS MAY BE MADE DURING A CLASS OR AT WORK!!! This means
while you are working, or when visiting someone at work. If you do, we
don't know who you are and we will deny all existence of this game, and
you will be automatically retired.

WEAPONS
You may use:

Water guns, disk guns, or any other non-damaging projectile weapon (fires
under 1 ounce/sq inch at 10ft). The projectile MUST hit the target, of
course!

Fake knives (rubber, folded paper, even an index card with "Knife" written
on it.), lightsabers, etc.

Explosives - Tennis balls with "Grenade" written on them, etc. Keep in
mind that explosives have a minimum lethal radius of 5 feet. You might
want to check with your CPA first to make sure you don't kill everyone in
the room.

NOTE: For poison, traps, & etc. the witness rules are in effect when the
lethal delivery device is prepared, not when it is executed.

Example: Arthur was given a box of Magic cards on the starting night of
Killer. He was given and opened the box in a room full of witnesses;
however, in the privacy of her own home, Jess put contact poison inside
the box. Arthur opened the box, Arthur died, Jess got the kill. Remember,
kids, Magic kills!

Poison: This is very tricky. If you kill an innocent you are dead. Poison
letters are NOT allowed, since that's just too easy. Poison drink (tape
poison to the bottom of their glass) is, etc. Poison handshakes are
allowed as long as gloves are worn by the killer. Poison kisses with
lipstick are encouraged, though difficult.

Miscellaneous: Anvils (sponges etc.) compression chambers (make sure the
windows are closed), etc. are allowed, but only to a point.

Weird, creative or outlandish kills are encouraged, but should be cleared
with the CPA first. Note: No REAL guns, clubs, swords, knives, etc. may be
used. (Duh.)

Also, no camera or laser distance kills subject to CPA approval. We are
not responsible for any damage done to or by any person in this game. The
CPA will not bail you out!

REGISTRY

Immediately after you assassinate someone, you must call or email
the CPA to register the kill. You will be assigned another target at that
time. Do not try to find out who your next victim is from your last. (It
may have changed since then.) Your one week deadline will start on
midnight after you receive your next victim. If you cannot reach the CPA
by any of the provided means, leave a message with assistants and he will
get back to you as soon as possible. YOU ARE NOT INVULNERABLE UNTIL THEN!

Good Luck and Watch Your Back.
