What are PEEPs?

PEEPs (Preventative Education and Empowerment for Peers) help CHEW to increase Homewood student's awareness and knowledge about varioius college health issues such as sexual health including contraceptive options, sexually transmitted infections, and women's reproductive health; sexual assault awareness; alcohol and other drugs; and healthy living; as well as promote Student Health and Wellness Center services. PEEPs accomplish this by going through specialized training to provide health promotion programs, events and outreach to their fellow peers.

Who are PEEPs?

Hola! My name is Asha and I am currently a senior majoring in Public Health and minoring in Spanish. I'm a native New Yorker, but I am proud to call Baltimore my second home. This is my first year as a PEEP and I'm so excited! I wanted to join PEEPs because I personally know how hard it is to live a healthy lifestyle while in college. Over my past two years at Hopkins, I have learned a thing or two about successfully doing so and I want to share my knowledge with the rest of the campus. Also, as a PEEP I hope to learn more about health and continue to grow as a health enthusiast. Other than PEEPs, I am involved in Black Students Union, Multicultural Student Volunteers, and the Gospel Choir's Praise Dance Team. During my free time I like to take long, random walks with my friends, bake, make smoothies (YUMM!!) and watch 90s cartoons on Netflix.I can't wait to get started and show Hopkins students that healthy living is possible in college and fun!

Hi! My name is Enya (pronounced with a j sound, I know, it's weird) and I'm a neuroscience major. I'm excited to be working with PEEPs this year because I want to learn more about how to keep my own healthy habits and hopefully help others do the same! During the year I do programs such as Making Neuroscience Fun, and I'm a member of HERO. Both of them involve helping out and spreading knowledge and that's what I'm all about. I look forward to getting to know my fellow PEEPs and helping to make a difference on the Hopkins campus :)

Hi everyone! My name is Gabi, I'm a senior neuroscience major from Wappingers Falls, New York. Besides PEEPs, I run cross country and track for Hopkins. I love running, hiking, reading, playing piano, cooking, laughing, hanging out with friends, and most importantly, blading. I'm looking forward to a wonderful year with PEEPs!

Hi! My name is Jill and I'm a senior majoring in Public Health Studies. I live just outside of San Francisco, California, and this will be my first year as a PEEP. I joined PEEPs because I love exercising and have played soccer and run track and cross country for most of my life. I'm excited to share my passion for exercise as well as help Hopkins students make healthy choices and live a balanced lifestyle. Outside of PEEPs, I run for the Hopkins cross country and track teams, and am a part of the Hopkins Emergency Response Teaching Unit and the Hopkins Emergency Response Unit.

Hey, my name’s Steph and I’m a senior BME major from New Hampshire.  I joined PEEPs since I’m a little bit of a health nut (and by I’m a little bit of a health nut I mean yeah, I definitely am), so I want to share my passion for healthy living with others. Outside of PEEPs, I run (and throw) on the Hopkins cross country and track teams. I’m looking forward to another wonderful year!
