Welcome to Johns Hopkins University Housing!

Welcome and congratulations on your decision to join the Johns Hopkins University community!  The next few years will be an important time for you as you achieve your academic goals and participate in activities and programs that broaden your interests and understanding of others. 

This website contains information that explains our policies and the placement process for incoming freshmen, as well as information about our facilities that will help you as you complete housing application materials to secure housing for the upcoming 2008-2009 academic year.  Click here for a copy of the Incoming Freshman 2008 welcome letter.

 

 

How do I Apply for Housing?

All incoming, full-time Arts and Sciences and Engineering first year students are required to live in University Housing.  This website will walk you through the process of applying for University Housing.  To apply for your housing for the upcoming year, please:

  1. Read the "How the Process Works" section

  2. Explore our residence halls

  3. Read our Community Standards and Policies

  4. Complete your Roommate Questionnaire

  5. Once you have completed the questionnaire and have read and signed your housing contracts, be sure to return the following materials no later than Friday, April 25, 2008 if you are an Early Decision student, and no later than Friday, May 30, 2008 for all other students:

    • One (1) signed copy of your housing contract

    • $200 deposit in check or money order made payable to Johns Hopkins University (please include student name and last four digits of student SS# on check)

    • One copy of the online questionnaire confirmation page

     If you have not yet received this information, please contact the Admissions Office at 410-516-7181 to request that a packet be sent to your current address.  This packet is sent from the Admissions Department to those students who have submitted their academic deposit and intend to matriculate to Johns Hopkins University.
