Currently, our Pharmacy Department is looking for Pharmacy Technicians to provide patient care in a decentralized practice model that integrates clinical and operational responsibilities. The Department of Pharmacy, consistent with the mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine, places a priority on teaching, research and patient care. Responsibilities: Pharmacy Technicians assist and support licensed pharmacists in providing health care and medications to patients. Some of the responsibilities are medication order entry, dose preparation, medication repacking, sterile intravenous medications, record and maintain informational records on various medications and/or pharmaceuticals, deliver medications to patient rooms and operate computerize dispensing machine. Candidates must enjoy performing precise work, maintaining accuracy; having a good manual dexterity, good communication and interpersonal skills. No prior experience necessary. Candidate must have a HS diploma or equivalent. Requires completion of Technical Training course for pharmacy and must be technician certified within one year of employment. Requires knowledge of basic math and the metric system. Must have the ability to read, measure, weigh, prepare and formulate medications and pharmaceuticals using metric system. Post-doctoral Research Fellow Position at the Zoological Society of San Diego
The Zoological Society of San Diego is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow (PhD or DVM/PhD) to join the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory in the Pathology Department at the Conservation and Research for Endangered Species in San Diego. The laboratory is dedicated to molecular research on naturally occurring diseases in wildlife from the combined collections of the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, as well as from field conservation programs. Projects center on discover and characterization of etiologies and mechanisms of emerging and ongoing infectious and genetic diseases in diverse animal species. This is an exempt position with a competitive salary, an appointment for 2 years, and is available as early as June, 2006. A strong background and extensive experience in molecular biology is essential. Experience in molecular research of diseases is desirable. The closing date for receiving applications is May 12, 2006.
