The newest James Bond
film, Tomorrow Never Dies, will have a premiere on
Thursday, Dec. 18, at the Senator Theatre to benefit the Broccoli
Center for Aortic
Diseases in the Division of Cardiac Surgery. Tickets are $100 per
person and
include a champagne-and-dessert reception, and an unveiling of a
sidewalk block at
7 p.m. The film starts at 8 p.m. For ticket purchase information,

The Summer 1998 NASA
Academy is accepting applications. Undergraduate and graduate
internship opportunities are available in engineering, science
and mathematics at
three NASA field centers (Ames Research Center, Dryden Flight
Research Center and
Goddard Space Flight Center); a NASA Academy is in the planning
stage for the
Kennedy Space Center. A team of students will work on the cutting
edge of NASA s
research and development while exploring the many facets of the
U.S. space program.

The NIEHS Center in
Urban Environmental Health announces availability of funding
for pilot projects, which will be funded for up to $12,500 for
the period beginning
April 1998 to March 31, 1999. Deadline for submission is Jan. 15,

The German Society of
Maryland is offering scholarships to undergraduate and
graduate students of German ancestry residing in Maryland.
Students must have
completed at least two semesters with a GPA of 3.0. The Princeton
Financial Aid
Form must also be filed. Special consideration will be given to
students who are
studying the German language or the culture of German-speaking
countries. The
application deadline is April 15, 1998. For an application, call

Scholarships are
available for men and women of Scottish descent through the
Washington Scots Charity and Education Fund of the St. Andrew's
Society of
Washington, D.C. Applicants must be full-time students of junior
or senior standing

Glamour
magazine's 1998 Top Ten College Women Competition is offering
a
$1,000 scholarship to accomplished female juniors. The
competition recognizes
exceptional achievements and the vision, determination and
academic excellence of
women. Candidates will be evaluated on leadership experience,
personal involvement
in community and campus affairs, and academic excellence.
Applications are
available at the Office of Studen Financial Services, 146 Garland
Hall on the
Homewood campus. Deadline for applications is Jan. 31, 1998.
Backpacker
magazine is offering $1,000 scholarships to full-time juniors
and seniors. Applicants must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in any
major field of
study. The scholarship program is designed to honor students who
have displayed
initiative in improving or protecting the outdoors and the
environment by taking
a leadership role in outdoor activities and encouraging others to
do the same.
