     Black Radio: Telling It Like It Was will air every Friday in
February, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Through interviews, historical
air checks, comedy, drama and music, Black Radio reveals the
correlation between milestones of black-oriented radio
programming and African American culture. Hosted by Lou Rawls.

7:30 p.m.--Jack Cooper and Al Benson: Cooper's radio program,
"The All-Negro Hour," made its debut in 1929 and was the first
successful black broadcasting effort.

8 p.m.--WDIA: The Goodwill Station, the first station in the
United States with an all-black on-air announcing staff, which
included B.B. King and Rufus Thomas.
