Peabody's Annual Piano Sale Set for This Week

Johns Hopkins Gazette Online Edition

If there's a piano in your future, this is the time to do something about it. During the past academic year, the Peabody Institute had the benefit of using new Kawai pianos through an ongoing arrangement with Kawai Corporation and its local representative, Jordan Kitt's Music. The institute received new pianos at the beginning of this academic year, and the older pianos are now available for purchase at a fraction of the manufacturer's retail price. New and used pianos of other makers, such as Steinway, Baldwin and Yamaha are also available.

This arrangement is an answer to the problem of having old pianos in constant need of repair or replacement. A successful selling event will help the Peabody Institute continue to receive new pianos for students' use.

All pianos in this program will be offered to Johns Hopkins faculty, staff and students at reduced prices before being offered to the general public.

The pianos have been professionally maintained and carry a 10-year factory warranty. The selection includes grand, baby grand, upright and digital pianos. Sales, service, financing and delivery will be provided by Jordan Kitt's Music.

The pianos may be viewed by appointment on Friday, Oct. 18, and Saturday, Oct. 19. The public sale will be 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20. Appointments may be arranged by calling 410-539-4280.
