Welcome to the homepage of the Undergraduate Academic Ethics Board at the Johns Hopkins University. The main purpose of this page is to keep members of the Hopkins community informed as to the policies, procedures, and activities of the Ethics Board. To this end, you can find on this web page all official documents of the Ethics Board, as well as a variety of related information from other institutions which you may find useful.

This home page only contains general information. If you have a question or concern relating to a specific issue, or if you wish to report a case of academic misconduct, you should email the Associate Dean of Students, Dorothy Shepard. In addition you may email the Ethics Board and you will be put into contact with the appropriate party.

One of the major goals of the Ethics Board for the 2006-2007 academic year is to create a greater awareness on campus of the scope and severity of the ethical misconduct that occurs among Johns Hopkins undergraduates, as well as the action taken in response to those violations.  During the previous academic year, 41 students were formally charged with academic misconduct.  Our goal is to reduce this figure by making it clear that ethical misconduct is extremely damaging to both the University as well as a student's academic and professional record.  Students are encouraged to suggest to the Ethics Board ways of reaching this goal.  Please either contact Dean Sheppard or email ethics@jhu.edu.

All email will be kept strictly confidential!
