Johns Hopkins Materials Science and Engineering professor shares his excitement for metallurgy
One always knew that Robert B. Pond was in the vicinity long before seeing him, his melodic whistling reverberating throughout Maryland Hall. Beloved by students and well known amongst the Hopkins community, Dr. Pond, who passed away in 2007 at the age of 89, was best known for the 500 lectures he gave on metallurgy to children, students, and staff and faculty.
