We, the members of the Johns Hopkins University
Campus Ministries would like to remind the university community
of our availability to all in this time of war and uncertainty.
All of our richly diverse religious traditions stand for peace
and justice. Each has weathered many wars and offered the tools
of faith and service to countless individuals and communities
over many generations.
We take comfort and insight from the atmosphere of tolerance and respect
that we embody here at Johns Hopkins. At such a time of heightened intensity,
it is of paramount importance that we reaffirm our commitment to values of
open expression, vigilance against harassment, quest for knowledge, and respect
of difference. We are a diverse and complex family that needs to acknowledge,
respect and at times transcend differences so that we can weather these difficult
times together
The University Chaplain, her staff, the Campus Ministers,
the Rabbis and the Imam pledge to be on call to all who seek
our assistance, and to lead in the ways of understanding and
reconciliation that are most needed in the coming days. We
unite in blessing and belief in the universal call towards
hope and love which are at the base of all creation and
every human life.
The Bunting Meyerhoff Interfaith and Community Service
Center is open and ready to welcome all students, faculty
and staff for moments of contemplation, prayer and support.
