Weekly Seminar: Spring 2010
Date: Friday February 19
Time: 11:00 AM
Location: Maryland Hall 110
Speaker: Helgi Adalsteinsson (Sandia National Labs)
Title:"A tale of two scales: Petascale computing meets multiscale
simulations"
Abstract
The major challenge of high-performance computing systems is harnessing them to get more valuable results (scaling the science) rather than simply handling larger systems (scaling the simulation). This seminar will outline some of our past and current work on developing multiscale simulations to study water/solid interface phenomena, and on uncertainty quantification methods to increase the fidelity of particle methods and multiscale atomistic-to-continuum simulations.
Upcoming Seminar
CEAFM SEMINAR
Speaker: Dr. Carlos Hidrovo (The University of Texas at Austin)
Title: "Gas-Liquid Multiphase Flows for High Speed Microfluidics"
