of Target Organizations
Direct application to companies and organizations can yield very
successful results. Once your goal is established and your documentation
created, you can begin to compile a list of firms that you want
to apply. Via brainstorming, you can create a list of firms that
you know in the field you are seeking employment. But what about
the organizations you don't know? To learn about them, consider
these resources:
Career Center Library:
In the Career Center's library, you will find multiple printed resources,
including directories and professional organization publications.
In addition, we have many different books of lists that provide
among others, a list of the top advertising firms in Boston, the
top non-profits in San Francisco, etc. Peer Assistants are available
to answer questions and point you in the direction of great resources.

CareerBeam:
CareerBeam is a comprehensive program that
helps you determine what you want in your career and offers the
steps to achieve it. CareerBeam provides access to information about
over 15 million companies and 20 million industries. It also allows
you to identify over 2 million international companies in more than
70 countries. CareerBeam is constantly updating companies’
information so you can have the most current knowledge available.

One of the premiere career exploration and
job searching online tools available, WetFeet provides profiles
of selected industries and information about hundreds of employers.
