Conducting Information Sessions

Information sessions are a great way to present information about your organization to a group of students. They help students learn about what you do, your culture, what kinds of internship and full-time opportunities you offer, and what you look for in candidates. By bringing your JHU alumni employees to information sessions, you can also involve them in your recruiting efforts and create a high-impact experience for your applicants.

On-campus information sessions can help market your opportunities in advance of a resume deadline or convey details about your organization for candidates interviewing with you the following day. They may be scheduled whether or not you intend to interview students on campus.

How to Schedule an Information Session

Making Room, AV, and Catering Arrangements

In keeping with campus-wide policies, the Career Center will make many of your arrangements (room reservations and equipment rental) on your behalf. However, employers are responsible for arranging catering, including payment and cancellations.

Room Reservations:
Please call us to schedule the date of your information session. Once the date has been selected, the Career Center will schedule the best available campus location for your event. You will be notified of your location as soon as possible. There is no charge for use of campus rooms. Information sessions may also be held off campus if desired. Information Session Locations

Audiovisual Equipment:
Please contact the Employer Relations Team at recruit@jhu.edu or 410-516-8056 at least two weeks in advance of your information session to reserve equipment. There is a wide array of equipment available to rent; rental includes technical support for your event. The Career Center will order equipment from the campus AV Department and send you an invoice after your event.

Catering:
Employers may select any caterer for information sessions. Employers will make arrangements and payment directly to the caterer (whether the campus caterer or another) and will be responsible for cancellations.

Some Popular Options:
Aramark (on-campus caterer): 410-516-4500
Zeffert & Gold (full-service catering)
Pizza Boli's (delivery): 410-235-1000

Please let the Career Center know if you will be providing refreshments so we can arrange to have an appropriate number of tables at your event.
