Research Interests

I am interested in the processes that govern the production of magma, differentiation of magma, and eruptive styles at subduction zones. To do this, I would like to use as many lines of evidence at my disposal, including petrography, trace elements, isotope ratios, seismic data, etc. All of these by themselves tell a portion of the story, but individually are incomplete. Currently, I am working on a melt inclusions project involving Cerro Negro, a volcano located in Nicaragua.  I have also begun work on the Aleutian Islands, where the majority of my research will be focused.
