Academic Background

Research Interests

My current area of research is focused on the “pallasite problem”. Pallasites contain only two major phases, Fe-Ni metal and olivine. Although pallasites are mineralogically simple igneous rocks, petrologists have proposed a variety of origins since the 1940’s with no coherent consensus on their formation. I hope to develop a better understanding of the thermal history of pallasites as well as addressing questions on whether liquid flow directions can be discerned and why phases are homogeneously distributed in some pallasite groups but not others.
