Founded on November 30, 1877, the Alpha Chi Chapter of Beta Theta Pi constitutes the oldest fraternal organization on the Johns Hopkins University Campus.

The Great Seal of Beta Theta Pi

     Founded on August 8th, 1839, Beta Theta Pi is one of the oldest fraternal organizations in this nation. There are 122 individual chapters in the United States and Canada. The Alpha Chapter was created at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. 180,000 young men have been initiated thus far, with many more to come in the future.
