The JHU Chamber Ensembles
Flute Choir
The Johns Hopkins University Flute Choir has been in recent existence since
2001, and as a performing ensemble is constantly growing and changing. We
currently perform as a choir as well as break into smaller duets, trios and
quartets. We rehearse for an hour or two a week as a choir, currently from
9pm until 10-11pm on Wednesdays, following the Wind Ensemble rehearsal. We
have performed for numerous events on and off campus including club dinners,
award ceremonies, services, etc, as well as in the JHU Chamber Concert Series,
and holding a joint concert with the Baltimore Flute Choir. Our musical selections
range in style from classical to cultural to holiday and more with varying
instrumentation (adding piccolos, alto flute, bass flute and piano accompaniment).
The flute choir is currently directed by Judy Cheng. E-mail hopkinsflutes@hotmail.com
for more information or to join the list! (Also check out the Gallery for
some photos!)
Other Ensembles
As a growing and changing organization, smaller ensembles are always being formed. In the past, the JHU Bands programs has seen a Clarinet Choir, Brass Choir and Percussion Ensemble. E-mail band@jhu.edu if you're interested in other chamber ensembles!
