Study Consulting (<< Back to Academic Assistance home)

Study Consulting was initiated at Johns Hopkins University in the fall of 1985 and has proven to be quite successful. The results are consistent: those who are dedicated and work conscientiously improve their academic standing.

The Study Consultant Program employs and trains seniors and graduate students to work as study consultants. They meet individually with each of their assigned students one hour per week, or more if necessary; this is a program designed to help students help themselves. Depending on your particular need, the following academic concerns are addressed:

Reading Text Books
“Backward Planning”
Test Anxiety
Organization
Where to Study
Activity Management
Self-Discipline

How to Enroll
See Mrs. Fay Day in the Office of Academic Advising, 385 Garland Hall, to apply. You can either call 410-516-5506 for an appointment or drop in to OAA, Garland Hall, 3rd floor.
