| Description | The Foreign Service represents the US in world affairs, so the Department of State wants Foreign Service officers who reflect the diversity and excellence of our society. The Pickering program seeks talented students in academic programs relevant to international affairs, political and economic analysis, administration, management, and science policy. The goal is to attract outstanding students from all ethnic, racial and social backgrounds who have an interest in pursuing a Foreign Service career in the US Department of State. In exchange for two years of graduate study, a Pickering Scholar must serve in the Foreign Service for three years. |
