While the Homewood campus is a hub for student life, Johns Hopkins' location in Baltimore, Maryland, means that students enjoy the best of both worlds: all the amenities of a major urban center—theater, museums, music, professional sports, all kinds of restaurants, and public transportation—plus the easy lifestyle and neighborliness of a smaller city. In addition to entertainment options, Baltimore offers many job, internship, and research opportunities. The Johns Hopkins Homewood campus is located in the Charles Village neighborhood of Baltimore, where students find shops and restaurants; the Johns Hopkins Barnes & Noble bookstore; several residence halls and university-owned apartment buildings; and all kinds of services. The Baltimore Museum of Art is located at the south end of the Homewood campus and one of Baltimore's most unique and charming neighborhoods, Hampden, is readily accessible from campus.
